Great Grandparents Marriage Certificate

The marriage Certificate shows that on August 6th 1881 Charles Sloan married Mary Charlotte McGhie at the “Church of the Mother of God and Saint James, Church Street, Pendleton” in the District of Salford, in the county of Lancashire.

Charles gives his age as 22 and occupation “labourer” with an address of 15 Peabody Street, Weaste.

His father’s name is James Sloan with occupation “Cab Proprietor”.

Mary Charlotte McGhie gives her age as 20 with an address of 10 Peabody Street, Weaste.

Her father’s name is Alexander McGhie, occupation “Commercial Traveller”.

Finally the Witnesses are stated as “A McGhie” and “Sarah Moss”.

My next step was to find out some information on the parents of our Great Grandmother Mary Charlotte McGhie.
